Service Terms & Policies
Last Updated: September 2026
1. Booking, Deposits & Payment Terms
To reserve a dedicated technician and lock in your scheduled arrival window, we require a $50 transferable deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is credited 100% toward your final service invoice. The remaining balance is due in full upon completion of the service and our joint 360° walk-around inspection. We accept major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, cash, and electronic bank transfers. Invoices must be settled prior to technician departure or vehicle handover.
2. Cancellations & 24-Hour Rescheduling Policy
We respect your schedule and ask that you respect ours. Appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled with zero penalty by providing at least 24 hours advance notice, and your $50 deposit remains 100% transferable to your new appointment date. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice or customer no-shows forfeit the deposit to compensate our reserved technician labor and travel allocation.
3. Idaho Weather & Environmental Contingencies
Treasure Valley weather can change rapidly. For mobile appointments, in the event of freezing temperatures (below 35°F), active rain, snow, sleet, severe thunderstorms, or sustained high winds that jeopardize safety or finish quality, Highlight Detail reserves the right to reschedule without penalty. Customers may also elect to transfer their service to our climate-controlled Boise shop (7512 Lemhi St #1) to preserve their scheduled date and time.
4. Mobile Service Logistics & Site Requirements
For mobile detailing services, the customer agrees to provide a safe, legal parking location (such as a private driveway, garage bay, or designated lot) with adequate clearance around all sides of the vehicle. Mobile service requires access to an exterior water spigot within 100 feet and a standard operational 120V electrical outlet. If a service cannot proceed due to inaccessible utilities, property lockouts, gated access denial, or unsafe site conditions, the appointment is subject to our late cancellation policy.
5. Vehicle Condition, Surcharges & Heavy Soiling
Flat package rates assume everyday road grime and normal vehicle wear. Vehicles exhibiting heavy soiling—including embedded pet hair, heavy mud, sand, mold, chemical spills, or bodily fluid biohazards—require specialized chemistry, extended extraction, and additional technician labor. An excessive soiling surcharge ranging from $40 to $80+ will be quoted and must be pre-approved in person by the customer before work begins. Under our Two-Way Fairness Guarantee, if a vehicle arrives cleaner than expected, your invoice will reflect that honesty.
6. Personal Property, Valuables & Child Safety Seats
Please remove all personal belongings, cash, electronics, firearms, and valuables from your vehicle prior to service. While our technicians exercise utmost integrity and care, Highlight Detail LLC is not liable for lost, missing, or damaged items left inside the vehicle. For passenger safety, child car safety seats and boosters must be uninstalled by the customer prior to interior service; technicians will clean beneath removed seats but will not reinstall child safety seats under any circumstances due to Idaho safety liability regulations.
7. Pre-Existing Surface Damage & Discovery Disclaimer
Deep cleaning and mechanical decontamination frequently uncover defects previously masked by road film, brake dust, oxidized clear coat, or dealer glaze. Highlight Detail is not liable for pre-existing finish degradation, including rock chips, clear coat failure, oxidized plastics, hairline scratches, weathered vinyl, headliner adhesive sagging, or brittle interior trim clips. Our technicians conduct an intake walkaround and photo log prior to starting work to document any visible pre-existing conditions.
8. Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating Limitations
Paint correction is a precision leveling process. While our multi-stage corrections typically achieve 80% to 90%+ defect removal, 100% flaw elimination cannot be guaranteed where clear coat depth is dangerously thin or defects penetrate through to the base primer. Ceramic coatings require strict adherence to aftercare instructions: an initial 12-hour dry indoor cure before moisture exposure, and complete wash abstinence (no soap, detergents, or abrasive agitation) for the first 7 days while the nano-ceramic matrix reaches full 10H pencil hardness.
9. 360° Walk-Around, Final Sign-Off & Limitation of Remedy
Every service concludes with a joint in-person 360° walk-around inspection between the customer and our technician to review completed surfaces and after-photos. • Sole & Exclusive Remedy: If any missed area, imperfection, or touch-up within the agreed service scope is identified during this inspection, our technician will rectify it immediately on-site before departure. This on-site touch-up is the customer's sole and exclusive remedy. • Conclusive Acceptance: Once the customer conducts the walk-around, approves the vehicle, and keys are returned (or if the customer chooses not to be present or declines to perform the walk-around upon completion), the service is deemed conclusively completed, accepted, and approved in full. • Zero Post-Departure Cosmetic Claims: Due to road driving exposure, environmental fallout, weather, and subsequent vehicle use, Highlight Detail LLC accepts zero liability and will not issue refunds, re-cleans, or chargebacks for aesthetic or cleanliness complaints reported after the technician departs the premises or the vehicle leaves our shop facility.
10. Absolute Limitation of Liability & Consequential Damages Waiver
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Idaho law: • Financial Liability Cap: In no event shall the cumulative financial liability of Highlight Detail LLC, its owners, employees, or contractors for any claim, dispute, loss, or damage arising from or related to our services exceed the actual dollar amount paid by the customer for the specific service rendered. • Waiver of Consequential & Incidental Damages: Highlight Detail LLC shall not be liable under any circumstances for incidental, special, punitive, indirect, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of vehicle use, rental vehicle expenses, third-party repair or repainting costs, vehicle storage fees, diminished resale value, or travel expenses. • Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction: These terms and all service agreements are governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Idaho. Any legal dispute, arbitration, or proceeding must be filed and resolved exclusively in Ada County, Idaho.
